Description

Inosine pranobex is an antiviral drug that is a combination of inosine and dimethylamyl acetobenate in a ratio of 1-3. Inosine pranobex had no effect on the virus particles themselves. Instead, it acts as an immune stimulant and is a thymus hormone analogue. Inosine pranobex has been used for SSPE, herpes simplex virus, human papillomavirus, HIV, influenza virus and airway virus infections, cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus infections.

Is isoprinosine an antiviral?
The antiviral activity of isoprinosine was tested in tissue cultures and mice. In tissue cultures, concentrations of 25 to 100 mug/ml inhibited the infectivity of influenza and herpes hominis viruses but not parainfluenza virus, rhinovirus, or adenovirus.
What is Isoprinosine used for?
For the treatment of various infections such as: Herpes simplex, Genital warts, Sclerosing panencephalitis. Syrup Dosage: Initially and during the peak stage of the disease: 100 mg/kg body weight daily. Subsequently, 50 mg/kg body weight daily as maintenance.
Is isoprinosine used for flu?
 
In tissue-culture systems, Isoprinosine exerted antiviral effects against influenza virus, PR-8 and A2 strains; herpes virus, LU strain; polio virus 3; and adenovirus 10.
What is isoprinosine used for cough?
Isoprinosine, an in vitro immuno-enhancing agent principally acting by stimulating T-lymphocytes, is one of a number of agents sometimes used in an attempt to prevent recurrent respiratory infections in children, although there are no formal trials for this particular drug.
Are COVID antivirals effective?
